Choosing a portable electric bike pump

For everyday cycling and longer rides, choose a portable bike pump that matches your tire pressure and valve type. Compare size and weight to find a pump that fits your riding kit.

Ventus Race weighs 0.26 lb and fits a cycling kit easily; Ventus Ride prioritizes more inflations per charge. Both include Presta and Schrader connections and automatic shut-off. For a speed reference, Ride’s comparison benchmark is about 90 seconds for a 700×25C tire from 0 to 80 PSI.

Bike pump FAQs

Does the pump fit Presta and Schrader valves?

Yes. Ventus Race and Ventus Ride both include a Schrader air hose and a Presta adapter. For Schrader valves, use the hose connection; for Presta, loosen the valve tip and fit the supplied Presta adapter. Ride also includes a Dunlop adapter. Connect the inflator to see the pressure, choose your target and let auto-stop finish the job.

What pressure should I use for my tires?

Ventus Race reaches 120 PSI and Ventus Ride reaches 150 PSI, so either can cover many road, city and mountain bike setups within those limits. These are inflator maximums, not riding recommendations. Set the pressure recommended for your tire and rim, rider weight and setup, then use automatic shut-off. Never exceed the lower pressure limit of the tire or rim.

How many tires can I inflate on one charge?

For road bikes, Woowind’s catalogue rates Ventus Ride for up to 6 tires and Ventus Race for 3, inflated from 0 to 99 PSI on one charge. For MTB top-ups from 29 to 49 PSI, the figures are up to 14 with Ride and 7 with Race. Choose Ride for more inflations between charges, or Race for a compact 0.26 lb pump. Actual results vary with tire volume and pressure.

Separate catalogue tests; results vary with tire size, pressure and conditions. Counts are not all flat-to-full inflations. PSI values are rounded.
