Choosing a portable car tire inflator

A portable car tire inflator makes it easier to check and adjust tire pressure at home or before a journey. When choosing your pump, consider your vehicle’s recommended tire pressure, how often you’ll use it, and whether you also need features such as jump-start support.

LP1 is the compact everyday option. Ventus Pro adds 20–22 L/min airflow and a 12 V vehicle power cable. Bora Plus combines inflation with a 12 V jump starter and a 65 W USB-C power bank. Compare the models below using the specific tire size and pressure change behind each performance figure.

Car air pump FAQs

What pressure should I inflate my car tires to?

Use the cold tire pressure on your vehicle’s door label or in its manual. Connect LP1, Ventus Pro or Bora Plus to read the current pressure, set that recommended target and start inflation; each stops automatically at the selected pressure. Their 150 PSI maximum is the inflator’s capability, not the pressure to put in your car tires.

How long does a portable inflator take to inflate a car tire?

Catalogue benchmarks describe top-ups from approximately 29 to 35 PSI: Ventus Pro takes about 60 seconds on a 225/45 R18 tire; LP1 takes about 120 seconds on a 195/65 R15 tire. These use different tire sizes and are not a controlled head-to-head test or flat-to-full times.

Can I inflate all four car tires on one charge?

Yes, for routine top-ups under the stated test conditions. On 175/70 R14 car tires, LP1 is rated for up to 8 top-ups and Ventus Pro for 10, from 29 to 35 PSI; Bora Plus is rated for 22 from 30 to 35 PSI. Each therefore covers four tires in those tests. These counts describe pressure adjustments, not eight, ten or twenty-two completely flat tires.

Separate catalogue tests; results vary with tire size, pressure and conditions. Counts are not all flat-to-full inflations. PSI values are rounded.
